Each week we'll endeavour to publish some details of the interesting things that members of DoES Liverpool have been up to over the past seven days. You can find out a bit more about them in our introductory post.

Liverpool MakeFest Lives!

From the MakeFest team:

Since late last year a team of dedicated volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes to get Liverpool MakeFest back off the ground, and we’re proud to finally announce the event is happening again this year.

Sunday September 13th 2026 is the date for your diary. The location is the Tapestry building in Liverpool City Centre, which some of you may already know as the home of DoES Liverpool. We tried hard to get Central Library again but ultimately failed on that. Our new home is a bit smaller and things will certainly be more cosy, but we’re looking forward to putting on a great event and keeping the legacy going.

DoES Liverpool Reinvigoration/Financial Planning Meeting

As John mentioned in the "Finances and Meeting minutes" thread, we've got the offer of donations to cover our monthly shortfall for a year to give us time to get DoES back on an even keel.

But it's dependent (very sensibly) on us having a plan for what we're going to do to differently so that we don't just waste that money and end up in the same place in a year.

Coming up with and implementing that plan is something that'll need input and ongoing work from all the community, so we want to have one (maybe two?) sessions to work through what it looks like. Thursday 16 July, 7:00pm-9:30pm	Maker Night Our free weekly evening meeting, where you can find out about our space and all the making equipment in it, get a laser cutter or CNC embroidery machine induction, and work on projects from physical computing and electronics to 3D printing, CNC routing and sewing. Just pay for materials used.
Friday 17 July, 6:30pm-8:30pm	Trans Council
Saturday 18 July, 11:00am-4:00pm	Big Queer Clothes Swap
Sunday 19 July, 11:00am-3:00pm	Repair Café
