Finding a new home for Gerald.

Hi folks,

Now that we have our new to us laser up and working and given it a name - Princess Fiona - it’s time for us to see if we can find a new home for Gerald.

We already have a couple of interested parties, but I thought it worth asking on this group if anyone else is interested. 

Gerald is being offered for free (though we would appreciate a donation if you are able, in the typical DoES way). You will need to arrange your own transport and likely the help to move it, though we will most likely have some help from DoES members to get it out of DoES. I will also help the new owner to get Gerald working in its new home.

The new owner will also have to buy their own license for the Lightburn software we recommend and have their own PC to run this software. We may also have a chiller available, though this has not been checked in years, so the new owner may potentially have to obtain one also.

Gerald is about 20 years old and has been well used but also well loved. There are a few known issues that we have captured in GitHub over the years, but it was basically working when we decommissioned it. All of the outstanding issues will be supplied as documentation to the new owner.

In physical terms, Gerald weighs approximately 330Kg, but can be disassembled to a degree for transport to reduce the weight somewhat. It will need 5-6 people to get it into a room though and re-assemble it. Its approx dimensions are 180x140x110cm (w x d x h).

Should this say that the target laser and beam combiner are not included, as we should transplant them into Fiona.
