I’m guessing it’s unlikely but does anyone know if there’s any chance of saving a brand new Sony Bravia with a broken led panel? Not mine fortunately but apparently a tripod “fell”/gently landed on the screen, there’s no visible damage but he’s not had any luck trying trouble shooting options from Sony and he’s out of luck regarding insurance. Alternatively anyone want to buy a TV for parts?!

Chances are the panel itself isn't made by Sony so if he strips it down and looks for a part number on the back of the panel itself then a Google may work wonders.

Just as an example : https://spares2repair.co.uk/sony-55-inch-full-led-backlight-array-yls-han55-7020-rev1.5-yls-hrn55-7020-rev2-syv5541-75.p3c08g001-kd-55x85?gclid=CjwKCAjwu4WoBhBkEiwAojNdXrnTibriqyA6pCzCySiPDkj61pI_MOPi-K2jpWq_PV9wU0ap-yg_3RoCTdIQAvD_BwE shows that you can get some panels at least but he'll need to search on part number for best results.

Should be quite an easy fix though, used to do lots of laptop screens back in the day and it's gonna be similar, just a scale thing. (Fave job was a customer who in a fit of rage threw his stapler at the desk, it bounced - right into his new laptop. He was a bit shamefaced when I collected it! 🤣🤣)

I agree with the earlier replies, it may well be a Samsung or CMO panel,.  Strip the TV and get part number, then Google it.

I’ll pass that on thanks. It’s an oled tv though so it’s likely to be all one unit that is the bulk of the cost of the unit right?
