Energy

encouraging
people from
local
communities

research and
develop local
sustainable
energy
projects. She
and her team
provide some
funding for
local people
to invest in
community
energy
development.
More
information

Rhianna
can be

We
were also
joined by Ed
Gommon, CEO of
Zero
Carbon
Liverpool City
Region
Ed talked us through some of the
detailed
research he
has been
involved with
on a number
feasibility
projects he
has undertaken
within Mersey
region,
including:
-
Solar carports on public buildings,
-
S0oar panels in car parks
-
Solar EV charging points
-
The Alt Co-op retrofit
-
Ground source heat pump initiative in L8
Sadly, Ed has found that there is a big leap
to get to the
next stage of
the process
because of
lack of
funding.
However, he is
working with
other similar
ventures
across the
North West and
between them
they hope to
find ways
round the
bottleneck for
money.

Transition Liverpool New Project
Seed
Library
Network
We
have been
collecting
seeds as the
first step to
setting up a
seed library.
The plan is to
meet up with
people in each
of the
libraries over
the next year,
to ask them
about setting
up a community
seed library.
We
will provide a
box of seeds
for each of
the libraries
who are
interested.
If
you are
interested in
helping with
the work at
your local
library,
please get in
touch

You
told us -
Mersey Green
Network Map
Last
month we let
you know that
we have spoken
to the
Solidarity
Economy
Association.
We have begun
reaching out
locally for
help in
funding the
changes we
wish to make
and for a new
person or
group to help
us with these
changes.
Want to be a part
of a movement
that is
developing a
map to:
-
Provide a resource for people who are committed
to
ethical green
and local
shopping
-
Encourage green, ethical and
fair
local
businesses to
put themselves
on the map
-
The map is being provided to support
networking
to learn from
one another
and offer
support
-
Establish an alternative economy in Liverpool
City Region
based on economic
justice,
equality and
sustainability
We are currently looking for people to help
spread the
word about the
map.
If you would like to help please email
transition...@gmail.com.
