CARPHOLOGY, as our resident Greek scholar John Barrs worked out, is the plucking at bedclothes by a delirious patient, def number 4.  Johnny was DQ, and the only player to vote for the real def was Dan Widdis.  Dan also got five votes for his study of writing materials, so he gets his just deserts by winning the next deal with a total score of seven.  Judy Madnick, with four votes for her parchment cataloging system, can breathe a sigh of relief as the lucky runner up.

The deadline you gave as noon today in New York is still two and a half hours away. I had planned to vote. I'm not saying I would have voted correctly, I usually don't, but it's theoretically possible. I think this is a tad premature,
