Bear's grease (also bear grease, or bear's oil) is simply defined by Merriam-Webster as the rendered fat of the bear.

According to Wikipedia, it was a popular treatment for men with hair loss from at least as early as 70 CE until about the First World War, originally based on the belief that as bears are very hairy, their fat would assist hair growth in others.  It was used in a variety of different ways, one of which was to make a pomade.

John Barrs DQ'd based on this knowledge, while Shani Naylor invented a fake based on pomade with a musky scent, placing me in the situation of trying to decide whether to combine the definitions to avoid two "correct" defs.  I did research enough to learn that bear's grease itself is mostly odorless, and the pomades made from it are often sweet smelling, not musky at all.  So I left it alone.

The next deal passes to Tim Bourne, who fooled six of you with his ski wax.  Debbie Embler also scored six points as the only player to guess the correct definition (because she just had to!)

Take it away, Tim!

Small correction. I just noticed Paul's vote was for himself, so should not score.
