Hello all!

It's quite an unexpecteed pleasure to have the deal again. Let's see if I can find a word that is actually as esoteric as it sounds to my Dutch ears in not too many tries.

Attempt 1 will be: HOUPPELANDE (which may or may not require, allow, or forbid capitalization - my lips are sealed).

If you know this word, please let me know in private. Or, if you prefer to DQ in public, then you can do so too, as long as you give no clues at all to what (you think) the word means.

If you do not know this word, then make up a fake definition, that you believe other players will fall for. Send that definition to me, again in private.

The deadline for submitting your definitions is a bit over 36 hours from now: September 24, 13:00 CEST. Click here for a countdown (because I am too lazy to do the conversion myself).

Cheers,
Hugo

Hey everyone!

A 50/50 ratio between DQ and definitions sounds bad. Except when that is fully caused by just one single player informing me they are DQ, and sending a definition. So for now, I see no reason to switch to another word.

But I *do* see reason for concern. Just a single reply after more than 10 hours? Including the afternoon and evening in the time zone with the most players? That is unexpected, and leaves me to wonder whether there is something wrong with the Google group message distribution.
Can anyone confirm that they did indeed receive my message, even if you are not ready to send a definition yet?

Reminder (in case you did miss the original message): the word is HOUPPELANDE (with no clues on capitalization given), and the deadline is September 24, 13:00 CEST.

Cheers,
Hugo

Hey all!

With a little over 15 hours to go, I now have 7 definitions (of which only one is from a dictionary), but also 2 DQ's. My cutoff point is at 3 - so one more DQ will put this word in the bin.

If your name is not in the list below, then please send me an email (not to the group!!) with either your fake definition, or your DQ.

Thanks!

I already have received definitions from:
Johnny Barrs, Eric Boxer, Glenn Davis, Judy Madnick, Shani Naylor, and Paul Keating

Did you send a DQ or definition but are not on the list? Then something went wreng. Please send again!

Cheers,
Hugo
