Disarticulated remains of a small predatory parareptile Emeroleter levis, originally described from the Upper Permian (Capitanian) locality of Kotel’nich (Kirov Region, Russia), were found in the abdominal cavity of the therocephalian Viatkosuchus sumini from the same faunal assemblage. This is the first unambiguous evidence of trophic links between tetrapods of the Kotel’nich Tetrapod Assemblage. This find confirms the interpretation, based on dentition, of Viatkosuchus as a generalist predator, which despite its large size was not primarily trophically associated with Deltavjatia rossica, the only large-sized herbivore of Kotel’nich, but took prey of varying sizes.
