Okay, as some of you already know - I like making things for my kids.

What once started out of necessity has now become an ongoing tradition.

This Christmas, it is T-shirts.

I am going to be looking for 2 fairy (type) images. I want them to be B&W and heavily detailed.

One fairy(?) needs to be soft and sweet, and the other fairy(?)/demon girl(?) needs to be dark and brooding.

I like Amy Lee's stuff, but they are already colored AND she is a copyrighted artist.

That is the delima. I need an original character from an artist who is either obscure, personally known, or so professional that they wouldn't care.

I am going to do 2 shirts. They are not going to be mass produced or sold, and they will have illustration credits and color credits (by me) on the back.

My intent is for my kids to have some REALLY cool shirts that are partly made by daddy.

The shirts will consist of a main image (app 6'' x 10"), an arm design running down 3/4 of the length of a long sleeved shirt (app 2" x 9"), a design on the cuffs (app 1" x 6"), and a tag on the back with proper credits (app 1 1/2" x 4).

I have a few artist friends, but I'm not sure they will be able to produce what I am looking for, so if anyone has any artwork in their folders and either know the artist or knows that they wouldn't mind me using them - I would appreciate it if you sent me the image.

I was thinking about gothic crosses for the sleeve details (for my oldest's shirt), and a "tribal" armband for the cuffs - but since I haven't started looking yet - I am really not sure what I am going to do.

This is in the beginning stages, and any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time,

Erin

Man, I'm going to have to get back to ya on this, this sounds like I'll need my brain at full capacity to concentrate enough to judge stuff properly to aid you, I better go have some protein, high protein food always seems to help boost my thinking (helps the production of neuro-transmitters).

Please don't put yourself out on my account.

If you already have something, or can put your hands on it fairly easily - I would be greatful.

Currently, I am browsing some foreign galleries. I would prefer it was from someone I knew, but since most of my friends don't work in this type of subject matter - I doubt I will get much feedback.

I have a bunch of galleries to look through, and I think Therion will give me some good choices.

Plus, I know Shell has a HUGE collection of faries - so she may be able to find something pretty quick.

The problem I foresee are the patterns for the sleeves and cuffs.

The gothic crosses and tribal band may work for my oldest's daughter's shirt, but the youngest ones may prove to be a challenge.

It will have to match the main image, so I probably won't go looking around for that part until later.

And again, please don't stress yourself. When properly motivated - I think I can color an image in 4 days. Or a week for both. That is still a whole month left to find things. ;-)

I enjoy helping out, but it's not a stressing out thing, my attention seems to fluctuate sometimes because of my ADD, and when it's low I have a harder time focusing to do stuff, and to be able to spot the specific type of pics you're talking of with the criteria you stated would require more focus than I can provide right now. Okey dokey. I'll try and do a search when I feel capable of devoting my full to it, otherwise I'm not going to do terribly well.

I understand, and thank you.

DD just sent in a gallery with Links galore.

I spotted a Dorian Cleavener image, but it is already colored.

It's really cool though. ;-)

Ya,

He's great!

He does have galleries at both Therion (where this is linked to) and Eek-Sr.

Both of which are in the links section.

But I'm not sure if he has a personal gallery.
