Feature - Submitter icons

With the latest redesign - thanks for showing who submitted the story
in the green font, in all listing pages. I also can see that you MIGHT
not want to show the icon of the submitter in the listing pages, as
that COULD introduce a lot of images to be downloaded off the digg
servers.
However, when going into the story details page, every commenter gets
his/her icon shown. Event the font used to show the recent friends who
dugg is bigger than that of the submitter. Why can't the submitter's
icon be shown there? Is there a business/technical reason behind now
showing the submitter's icon?
