About Khensur Rinpoche

Khensur Lobsan Tenzin Rinpoche was awarded a Geshe Lharampa degree and
later served as the abbot of Gyume Tantric College, relocated in
Hunsur, India. He primarily resides in Sera Je Monastery in south
India, where he teaches many students preparing for their Geshe
degrees, including young tulkus (recognized incarnations).
Because of Khensur Rinpoche's renown as a great scholar in the systems
of both Sutra and Tantra, he is called upon to teach throughout North
America, Europe, and Asia. Khensur Rinpoche teaches annually at Deer
Park and maintains a close relationship with Geshe Sopa, who is one of
Khensur Rinpoche's teachers. Aware of Khensur Rinpoche's profound
qualitites, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has requested that Rinpoche
maintain his permanent Residence at Sera Monastery to serve as one of
the principal teachers to help bring forth the new generation of
scholar-practitioners.

Discussion of the Seven-Point Mind Training by Geshe Chekawa

Jefferson St., Oakland, CA 94612)

Suggested donation: $20 per day. No one will be turned away for lack

Wednesday August 13

Explanation of the Tsog Offering, and Q&A
7 pm at the TCCW Mill Valley Center (160 Corte Madera Ave., Mill
Valley, CA 94941)

Khensur Rinpoche will explain the Tsog offering and its importance in
our practice. There will be an opportunity for students to ask
questions.


Saturday August 16

Vajrasattva Initiation
10 am - 1 pm at the TCCW Oakland Center (610 16th St, at Jefferson
St., Oakland, CA 94612)

This meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva is considered supreme
among all practices for the purification of accumulated negativities,
illness and obscurations. This initiation empowers us to cultivate
this practice, which allows our true nature to manifest.

Sunday August 17

Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) Initiation
10 am - 1 pm at the TCCW Oakland Center (610 16th St, at Jefferson
St., Oakland, CA 94612)

Chenrezig (Sanskrit: Avalokiteshvara) is the Bodhisattva of Universal
Compassion, embodiment of the great compassion of the Buddhas.
Receiving this initiation means the seed of compassion is planted in
the mind of the participant. This seed can be nurtured through ongoing
practice.
