Blue Button 2.0 API Community,
We wanted to make developers aware of a known issue that your users may run into when going through the Blue Button 2.0 authentication flow.

If an enrollee is already logged into their Medicare.gov account within the same browser session that they are completing the authentication flow in, triggering the authentication flow (which should direct them to sign in to their Medicare.gov account) will instead redirect them to the logged-in Medicare.gov homepage.

In the immediate term, this issue can be resolved by either:
1) Ensuring enrollees are logged out of Medicare.gov in their browser session before starting the BB2.0 flow
2) Using an incognito browser session to begin and complete the BB2.0 authentication flow

Longer term, we are working with the Medicare.gov team to prevent this redirect from happening. At this time, the fix is scheduled for November (after open enrollment).

Thanks for your patience as we resolve this issue.

- The Blue Button 2.0 Team
