Curb appeal, I'm told by the Board, is what our draft DSNC outreach posters need more of. And branding, starting with an eye-catching logo.

The current DSNC logo you see on the website is a combination of the wooden "Davis Square" sign in the middle of the square and "Neighborhood Council" in the style of an MBTA Red Line banner. I can start putting that design on posters if people like it, but I think I remember even the creator (thank you, Z!) saying it was done quickly and they would like something more polished.

What does the DSNC look like to you, manifesting in a form that's visually appealing in both color and black-and-white? I'm thinking posters, web site, social media, T-shirts, and tattoos?

Is it a blue-and-white six-way intersection like the logo of the Davis Area Resident Business Initiative (DARBI)? A skyline of distinctly Davis Square building types or landmarks? The letters "DSNC" morphing into one of those? An iteration of the current logo?

I know we have hardly any visual artists in our local community, but if by chance someone with more talent than me is interested in sketching or clicking or blowing glitter or whatever your process is, this is your chance to get Davis Square famous.
