Thank you for your response. The time for you to criticize the election set-up was when the bylaws and election rules were established and voted on. It is impolitic to be harping on every flaw in our execution when we are diligently handling a first-run of a new procedure (that was approved by vote of the membership).
You are questioning the credibility of this election. This is not personal; I am only one of many volunteers that you are nitpicking at for the past week. The election does not need to be perfect to be credible. It is quite credible and exceptionally well done for a hyperlocal, small election. We have handled each snag, as it arose, with a clear goal of maintaining a welcoming environment for interested voters.
Regarding “construction workers and musicians”: You are the party that created that example. Chris’s example of rent control voters packing the election sites is a significantly more relevant example. I hear some sort of bias in your choice that I can’t put my finger on, but there is something pejorative in it. And as Chris said, “get out the vote” by groups who work together towards a goal is at the heart of free and fair elections.
You cannot undo your ongoing unconstructive criticism by saying you sincerely appreciate our work. You can do better by increasing your constructive criticism in place of your attempts to discredit our work, while it is in progress.
