Dear Ms. Miller,

We are asking that MassHousing continue the suspension of consideration of the Copper Mill proposal pending the presentation by Copper Mill of different design options in the next 30 days to the community.  Here is the basis for this request.

On Tuesday evening, March 10, at a meeting that Copper Mill set up in the Crystal Ballroom at the Somerville Theater to make a presentation and receive input, Copper Mill said that it was going to come up with new design options in the next 30 days.  More specifically, Copper Mill said:

“Within the next 30 days we will present multiple options – and they may not be fully baked, and they may not be beautiful, but I think what we like to do is - again is thematically what does it look like, you know, smaller, what are different settings, … .”

“Our hope is that by the end of this month [March] we have a number of different options on the wall at 235 Elm Street [an office that Copper Mill will open up on about March 23]. 

The intent is that based on “a lot of input we have gotten in recent weeks”, “to show – study and show and share different design alternatives … .”

Thank you for your consideration of our request to continue the suspension of the Copper Mill 40B proposal until such time as Copper Mill have followed through on its stated intention to offer new design options for the people of Somerville to review and on which to give feedback.
