Tuesday: Tikvah Tablet The Scroll Definitely Has Its Priorities Straight!

After spending the afternoon, as I usually do, reading in Prospect Park, I came home, opened my computer, turned on the TV – and this is what I saw:

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/05/24/us/shooting-robb-elementary-uvalde

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/05/24/school-shooting-uvalde-texas-updates/

The NYT timeline begins at around 5 PM, the Washington Post at 4:44.

But Tikvah Tablet The Scroll had much more important things on its mind:

The time stamp on my e-mail was 5:40 PM – ample time to address the Texas School Shooting.

But 14 children do not rate compared to Hillary Clinton and the RUSSHER HOAX!

Indeed, I can only imagine what the conversation was in the Tikvah Tablet The Scroll “newsroom” was – Hillary or the NRA?

It is clear who won out on that score.

In Tikvahworld it is always prudent to stick with the Trumpside.

Here is the Big Story in full:

In federal court on Friday, former Hillary Clinton presidential campaign manager Robby Mook testified under oath that a month before the 2016 election, Clinton personally approved the decision to leak to the press a narrative falsely connecting the campaign of Donald Trump to Russia. The leak alleged a secret direct line of communication between computer servers in Trump Tower and Russian Alfa Bank servers in Moscow. The allegations of the since-disproved Trump-Russian ties were then passed along by the Clinton campaign, Mook testified, to Slate magazine, which published a story by the writer Franklin Foer on October 31, 2016, “Was a Trump Server Communicating With Russia?” The news about Mook’s testimony has been ignored by much of the press, but it directly implicates Clinton in the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation that consumed the U.S. media and political class for almost four years. Citing the complicated technical nature of the allegations about the server communication, Mook testified from the witness stand that the campaign was not “totally confident” in the story of the secret Trump-Russia servers before passing it on to both U.S. intelligence agencies and the press. Once published, the Slate article was promoted in a press release by the Clinton campaign’s policy adviser, Jake Sullivan (now Present Biden’s national security advisor), who wrote, “This secret hotline may be the key to unlocking the mystery of Trump’s ties to Russia.” Clinton then wrote her own tweet amplifying Sullivan: “Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank.”

If that’s a lot to untangle, that’s part of the point of how opposition research functions in today’s media ecosystem. By the time the Alfa Bank allegation had been vetted by Democratic National Committee (DNC) opposition researchers and distributed by the staffers of the DNC’s candidate to friendly members of the media, the imprimatur of the nominee herself, Hillary Clinton, appeared almost like a benign comment on a media report about her opponent. Mook was in federal court describing all of this as a witness in the ongoing criminal prosecution of Michael Sussman, a Clinton campaign attorney employed by Perkins Coie who is accused of failing to disclose his professional relationship to Clinton when he peddled the Alfa Bank story to the FBI. Sussman claims that he wasn’t acting as a representative of the campaign but rather as a concerned citizen when he spoke to the FBI, and campaign staffers, including Mook, deny being aware that Sussman was pushing the FBI to investigate the Russian link. Regardless of Sussman’s criminal culpability, the trial, and Mook’s testimony, aren’t really about the crime of making a false statement to law enforcement. As the lawyer and author of Substack “Techno Fog” wrote of the trial, what’s being told in federal court is “the story of how the Clinton machine and its agents used the media and the FBI to spread lies to influence the election.”

Just to show us how low we have sunk these days, the sentiment was seconded by Trumpscum Alt-Right macher Matt Taibbi, who is now demanding that Hillary be removed from Twitter for the RUSSHER matter:

Just for good measure, for those who might not be following the Jewish media ethnocentrism, is the Rabbi Pinto/LeBron James SHANDA:

At a wedding on Sunday night, LeBron James entered the reception hall at the side of Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, a Moroccan Israeli kabbalist who, according to TMZ, had given James some “spiritual guidance” in 2010 during a merchandising meeting “on a private yacht.”Following that meeting, James donated $100,000 to Pinto’s organization and yeshiva. While James and Pinto made a surprising pair, the two men have in fact known each other for more than a decade, originally introduced through Jay Schottenstein, the owner of the Cleveland Cavs and a Jewish philanthropist who was also the father of the groom on Sunday night. While LeBron, towering a foot above Rabbi Pinto, is the larger of the two stars, Rabbi Pinto is a well-known figure who made headlines in 2014 when he was imprisoned in Israel for bribing a police officer. At the wedding, though, the two men appeared happy to see each other, chatting and hugging as onlookers snapped photos and selfies.

Though you will be reading this on Sunday, I am writing it on Tuesday, and do not intend to update it – in case the Whore of Trump decided to address the gun issue.

Wednesday: Tikvah Tablet Bari Weiss Does the Right Thing

I would be remiss if I did not mention the excellent piece on the Texas School Shooting by Bari Weiss:

https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/american-madness?token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjo2NTQ0OTU3LCJwb3N0X2lkIjo1NjQ1MDAyNiwiXyI6IlFyRmpBIiwiaWF0IjoxNjUzNDczNDA2LCJleHAiOjE2NTM0NzcwMDYsImlzcyI6InB1Yi0yNjAzNDciLCJzdWIiOiJwb3N0LXJlYWN0aW9uIn0.b_N4fNgQTpjt_gLg8_mbHOAHAYjTYK5y4iDViaCmvyU&s=r

To be honest, I was not able to sleep with all the concern for the 19 dead children, and continued to think of how Alana Newhouse sought to ignore the massacre.

I did recall the immediate reaction of Weiss to the Texas Synagogue hostage situation last January:

https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/being-jewish-in-an-unraveling-america?s=r

At least she reacted almost as quickly to the current violence.

Though she does not ever mention Cancun Cruz, Moscow Mitch, the Trumpublicans, the NRA, or any of the actual culprits – and she does her usual Neo-Con Podhoretz shpiel about crime – something is better than nothing.

Which is more than I can say about Tikvah Tablet The Scroll.

Wednesday in Tikvah Tablet The Scroll: My Yetzer Hara Gets the Better of Me!

In the first note I said that I would not do Tikvah Tablet The Scroll follow-up.

https://thedailyscroll.substack.com/p/what-happened-today-may-25-2022?token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjo2NTQ0OTU3LCJwb3N0X2lkIjo1NjU1NTI2NCwiXyI6IlFyRmpBIiwiaWF0IjoxNjUzNTE3NTQwLCJleHAiOjE2NTM1MjExNDAsImlzcyI6InB1Yi02ODA5MTgiLCJzdWIiOiJwb3N0LXJlYWN0aW9uIn0.ilfAP67-yJqs7GCE4naN7nAi-Ng4xcnUvZhpvpULgGY&s=r

But I could not resist:

A shooting in a Texas elementary school yesterday left 19 children and 2 teachers dead and more than a dozen students and faculty members injured, after an 18-year-old gunman crashed a truck through a school barrier and made his way inside. All of the deaths and injuries took place in a single classroom, law enforcement said Wednesday. Before the gunman opened fire, students in a nearby fourth-grade classroom spotted him approaching and escaped one by one out of a window. The suspect had recently purchased an AR-15-style rifle after turning 18, one of the two rifles he’d reportedly brought to the school, along with 375 rounds of ammunition. The suspect was shot and killed by an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent who entered the school and exchanged gunfire with the shooter while he was still barricaded inside the classroom. The agent, a member of an elite Border Patrol Tactical Unit, eventually killed the 18-year-old shooter, suffering non-life-threatening injuries in the encounter. Located about 85 miles west of San Antonio, Robb Elementary School sits in a rural town called Uvalde, not far from the Mexico border. At least 40% of those living in Uvalde near the school have resided in the same house for the past three decades, according to recent census data. The school shooting yesterday puts the total number of mass shootings in the United States—defined as events in which four or more people are wounded or killed—at 213 for the year, an average of more than one per day. The incident comes 10 days after another shooting in which an 18-year-old suspected gunman killed 10 people in a Buffalo supermarket. The Uvalde shooting is the second deadliest elementary school shooting to take place in the United States, following the killing of 26 people, including 20 children, at Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. Like many past shootings, the deadly event yesterday has sparked a national conversation about gun legislation, with a focus on two bills that strengthen gun background checks but have not moved from the House of Representatives, where they passed in 2020, to the Senate, where it’s expected they would not find enough Republican supporters. On Friday, the National Rifle Association is expected to still host former president Donald Trump and other speakers at its convention in Dallas, though John Cornyn, a Republican senator from Texas, has canceled his appearance.

The first thing that again needs to be said is that the story was put back one day, in order to Troll Hillary and attack the Bob Mueller RUSSHER HOAX.

The next thing is the careful manner in which the NRA and Gun Control are handled.

There is a whiff of schadenfreude in the assessment that any Congressional legislation will be DOA in the Senate.  It is stated very matter-of-factly without any resentment.  The tone is not at all filled with the rage and aggressiveness we would expect if the violence was directed at Jews.

And there is mention of John Cornyn’s withdrawal from the NRA Houston convention, 300 miles from Uvalde, but only the Zombie Orange Pig is mentioned by name as still planning to attend:

https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/25/politics/national-rifle-association-annual-meeting-what-to-know/index.html

Of course, the note is noteworthy for what it does not state – nothing on Trumpscum Cancun Cruz, Greg Abbott, and Moscow Mitch – or even Traitor Joe.

But the main takeaway, unique to Tikvah Tablet The Scroll and its own form of Alt-Right racism, is the whole Border Immigrant Tucker Carlson aspect, as is clear from this passage:

To be honest, after all I have seen on TV and read in the newspapers, I was not expecting this.

Again, in the usual Tikvah manner, it is very careful about how its implicit racism is worded, but in the end it is redolent of the usual FOX News antagonism towards immigrants.
