My grandson Michael is going to LOVE the children's album.  He's all about Poop and Pee.
Any news on availability?

Sounds like another fine show.

You have to sign up for an account at dimeadozen. I'll post details
here once I edit the show down and have it ready...

Linda, what's the possibility of a show this summer? Like in
September when David may be rolling through town? ;)

ooo, is there a fall midwestern tour coming up?

We would certainly try to put together a show if David is going by this way.  September is a pretty busy time for the vineyard, depending on when the grapes are ready for picking.  Unfortunately we never know just when that will be until the time gets close, but we can usually work a free day or so into the schedule.  It was great fun last time and many people said they wanted to come back for a show again.  Maybe we could have a Harvest Festival or something of the sort.

Do you have any tentative dates in mind?

The Saturday house show was canceled so I (half) jokingly brought up
the possibility of Flying Otter. He was receptive, so I decided to
see if I could poke around a little bit. :)

He said that late September was a possibility; that's the next go-
round.

So it's possible then? I don't know that I could contain the
excitement for so many months!

Sorry to hear the other show fell through, but happy to hear you remembered us.

Actually that sounds better every time I hear it.  The later in September we go the more likely it is that the grapes will all be picked and I'll be ready for a good party.

It is a long time to wait, but summer always seems to go faster than winter.  I think the last time we talked about maybe doing an earlier show...like maybe an afternoon picnic type thing with a concert finish.  That could be fun.

"Happy to hear you remembered us"? How could I forget!

I had a quick text with David yesterday and he said that September
plans are coming together, so he should know fairly soon what it's
looking like. I told him, and will now tell you, that my girlfriend
and I will be needing a vacation by September - so I'm really hoping
this happens. :)

Fall in SE Michigan is really a beautiful time.  The Flying Otter looks forward to becoming your vacation destination of choice.
It would be fun to see some of you other listees join us too.  I guess we are getting a little ahead of ourselves, but ...we do tend to get pumped up for these possibilities.

I would love to get there at some point. Michigan is not particularly
close to Oregon, and Sam is not yet a year old, but I still hold onto
the dream that I will attend a David Mead concert at The Flying
Otter. Fingers crossed...

Joe, let me convince you with all of the energy I have. I've seen
David fifty times. The top two are Flying Otter 9/5/05 and 11/1/08.
You get a show unlike any other when it's on someone's porch or in
their living room. And besides that, the Utters are a fun and fine
bunch! :)

Some good memories there...and those only hint at some of my favorite moments.  Like Craig, Oscar, Lauran, and I singing Valerie to a nonplussed David after the '05 concert, and the momentary blackout of lyrics for the (as it turns out) appropriately named "Everyone Knows It But You" for the '08 show.  Also cricket sounds, a rare Cuba appearance, and chocolate covered raisins.

It is the most fun to see the fans that are getting to meet David for the first time, and those who have seen him before but not been afforded a relaxed atmosphere to get to really chat with him a bit...maybe work up the nerve to ask him about something you've always wanted to know about a song or lyrical bit.  And I get to meet a lot of good folks, so it's great.

I read in the Guilt-Free Pleasures blog that Almost & Always is due out in late August so hopefully they have good info.  I thought I had heard that before, but then couldn't find it again so I thought I might have made it up.  Wishful thinking does that to me sometimes.

Hope everyone is enjoying the new summer, and we will continue to hope for a fall tour connection.
Linda
