Allright, I am happy to see that folks are chatting and getting the
business end of things taken care of here. Sorry I have been out of
the loop for awhile. Things are nutty down here with the promotion and
glorification of myself, Elle Macho and raw food.
Yeah! Raw food. My tip of the day is to eat raw food for a week. It's
trendy and a little time consuming but I haven't had so much energy,
contentment and zest for life since the last time I ate raw food for a
week. Everything works perfectly. And I look like Cher. Linda, don't
tell Mongo.
I'm not sure which would perplex him more, the raw food or your
resemblance to Cher.
I could do raw food in the summer, with the farmers market and my fresh
tomatoes, but this time of year I like warmth. Casseroles and soups
for me. Gotta admit I feel pretty lethargic most of the winter
though. Going to the other extreme, I am going to try
Bacon
Explosion, either for Mongo's birthday (today) or the Superbowl.
Bill DeMain and I just finished writing another album this week. It's
called 1908 Division' and is sort of a conceptual piece about the
people with whom I have been sharing an apartment building since last
Summer. There is an overture, reprise and a song for every apartment
in the building. I think it's really good. I am going to try to record
it in March when I get back from tour.
Then you should write a screenplay to go with it and turn it into a
movie.
I am also working on a more upbeat pop album called either 'Ya-Ya's'
or 'Bobby.' It's more in the vein of Mine and Yours than anything I've
done for awhile. It might take a little longer to pull off on a
limited budget. I might actually tackle this one before the apartment
thing as I am getting the feeling that the Japanese would like a more
summery upbeat album next and I am afraid that bobbym might make a
steel voodoo sculpture of my head if I keep putting out this sappy
shit.
You have to go with how you feel. Take two more weeks of raw food and
you'll be so relentlessly happy you'll be doing bubblegum. I just hope
you have fun with it, and that will show through.
Elle Macho is powering on. I have never been a part of anything
musical that seems to have as much good fortune involved with it. We
more or less finished our tour of Nashville unscathed and are
beginning to edit the film pieces we shot along with it. Today we
managed to bully our way into South by Southwest and we are discussing
the potential for recording an album sometime in April.
Such a fun, high energy project.
Nashville is cold but I am enjoying it. Stan has embraced his recent
celebrity by resorting to frigid walks and frequent bouts of pouting.
His diva-like behavior does not suit his bone structure but he seems
not to care.

Stan seems to be a very comfortable-in-his-own-skin kinda guy. Give
him an extra kibble for me.
