Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same
way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin

Maybe you're upset with someone. Maybe not now, but I'm pretty certain that
someone sometime will set you off.

I was upset and I took it to the Lord. "Why are they doing this to me? It's
not my fault is it? Lord, you promised that you would take care of me. Why
don't you take care of this?"

And here was the answer I got, "Arm yourself with a willingness to suffer."
I did not like that answer, but when I accepted the direction I had peace.

We may not get what we want. But that's what I needed. When we are willing
to suffer the faults and assaults of others then we are in a place where the
grace of God provides just what we need. Let's pray.

Lord Jesus, thank you for suffering for us so that we could know your love.
Help us to be willing for your sake to suffer and look to you to lead us
along. When we don't understand or when we are hurt then help us to forgive
and look forward to the joy we have in you. Amen.

Today's very great and precious promise

For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure?
But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious
thing in the sight of God. (1Pet 2:20)

We have God's word on it.
