. Many of us are familiar with the King
James Version.
Luke 1:46-55 (King James Version)
46And Mary said, My soul doth magnify
the Lord,
47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God
my Saviour.
48For he hath regarded the low estate
of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call
me
blessed.
49For he that is mighty hath done to
me great things; and holy is his name.
50And his mercy is on them that fear
him from generation to generation.
51He hath shewed strength with his
arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52He hath put down the mighty from
their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
53He hath filled the hungry with good
things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54He hath helped his servant Israel, in
remembrance of his mercy;
55As he spake to our fathers, to
Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Luke 1:46-56 (The Message)
46-55And Mary said,
I'm bursting with God-news;
I'm dancing the song of my Saviour God.
God took one good look at me, and look what
happened-
I'm the most fortunate woman on earth!
What God has done for me will never be forgotten,
the God whose very name is holy, set apart
from all others.
His mercy flows in wave after wave
on those who are in awe before him.
He bared his arm and showed his strength,
scattered the bluffing braggarts.
He knocked tyrants off their high horses,
pulled victims out of the mud.
The starving poor sat down to a banquet;
the callous rich were left out in the cold.
He embraced his chosen child, Israel;
he remembered and piled on the mercies,
piled them high.
It's exactly what he promised,
beginning with Abraham and right up to now.
56Mary stayed with Elizabeth
for three months and then went back to her own home.
