Hello Sierra Club,

This is EARTH WEEK!

Sign the petition, come to the events and bring your friends!

Events:
Monday, April 20th, is Water Day from 12-4pm in the Korman Quad (rain location: the Armory). Bottled water is an incredible waste since it consumes plastic, has high transportation costs and lacks thorough water quality testing. Join Drexel Sierra Club, Think Outside the Bottle, Engineers without Border and WKDU for environmental facts, water taste testing (bottled vs. filtered vs. tap), music by WKDU, and water pong! We’ll be giving away Nalgenes as prizes, and have a giant plastic water bottle display. A screening of Running Dry, which addresses the global water crisis, will follow the earlier event. The movie will be screened at 8pm in the Korman Quad (rain location: Nesbitt 111) - there will be free popcorn and more Nalgene prizes.

Wednesday, April 22nd, is Earth Day! From 11-3, at Mario the Dragon statue (33rd and Market), we will be holding photo petitioning, flower giveaways and a raffle for a gift basket from Trader Joe’s. There will also be a group Night Bike Ride to celebrate the outdoors. Bike Ride: Bring a bike and join us at 9pm, meeting at the Dragon. If you don’t have a bike, consider utilizing Drexel’s bike share program to join in on the fun!

Friday, April 24th, is our Clothing Swap, 12-5 at the North Fountain (rain location inside North). Bring your “gently” used clothes to exchange with other Drexel students! Bring one and take as many as you want. Music will be provided by WKDU and all the remaining clothes will be donated to local Philadelphia charities.

Saturday, April 25th,  we will be joining the Alumni Association and UC Green in their efforts to green University City by planting trees from 9-2 at Malcolm X Park (52nd and Baltimore).  Free rides from Vidas Field, free food and t-shirts.  Information: http://www.drexel.edu/ia/alumrel/eventitem.asp?eventid=692
