Upcoming Q+A on Potential DSpace / DSpace-CRIS Merger (September 30, 14:00 UTC)

Dear DSpace Community, 

As you probably know, DSpace and DSpace-CRIS have been exploring the possibility of merging the two platforms.

This work has been guided by two Planning Groups: the Strategy Planning Group and the Technology Planning Group. On August 12, 2025, DSpace Governance Chair Maureen Walsh shared an update with the community. At this time, no decision has been made about whether a merger will take place.

Naturally, many of you may be asking: When can we expect a decision? If a merger does occur, what is the expected timeline for a merged DSpace? And what impact might this have on my repository?

To help address these and other questions, we invite you to join a live Q+A session with members of both Planning Groups on September 30, 2025, at 14:00 UTC.
