Name on publication is different than name on related person entity

Hello!

We use person entities to create author profile pages. We then relate the publication entities to the person entity page to display an author's publications on their profile page.

This author changed her name a few years ago, so she has publications reflecting both names on her entity page. However, the metadata for all her publications only shows her current last name (Haywood), even for publications where her previous name (Haywood Ferreira) is on the publication. I believe our team made the decision to enter the metadata that way so the publication would display on the person entity page.

The author would like her name that she published under to be accurately reflected in the metadata.

Is there a way for us to correct her name in the metadata and still relate the publications to her entity page?
