I was reading this with that song by james taylor 'when you're down-
and troubled-and you neeed a helping hand. And nothing is blah blah
blah.

But I'm guessing that's not the right tune, is it?

Petula (Pet) Clark was a groovy chick in the 60's who sang a jazzy
bassanova style, almost beatnik song called Downtown. James Taylor's
song (as are all of his songs) is also terrific.
