When DRP goes to print, where will it be made available? Are you going
to offer subscriptions?
I am looking forward to seeing DRP go to print,
Skott
Thanks for your question. I'm actually in the process right this minute
(seriously, right this minute) of having the site updated with pre-order and
subscription options.
I suspect it should be live come Monday.
I'm really looking forward to seeing her in print as well. I've cheated over
the last couple of years and had single sample issues printed up for
conventions, but it will be very nice to see it out there for everyone who wants
one.
At this point DRP will be available for sure from the Dark Recesses website,
CuttingBlock.net, HorrorLibrary.net and I beleve BloodlettingBooks.com. I will
also try to take up wall space at Shocklines, though the purchases will be
directed to the DRP sales engine. I suspect there will be a few other places
available as time goes on. I will, of course, be looking into some independent
walk-in book stores as well.

I don't know if Dark Recesses is available in Canada. I live in Nova Scotia
and we have a vibrant literary community here. Please keep that in mind. I
would definitely read it if it was.

Dark Recesses Press is actually Canadian owned and operated (I am situated on
the other side in Beautiful British Columbia).
DRP will be available to the world thanks in large part to the world wide web.
I will be splitting up the initial shipment to have part of it being mailed out
of the US and part out of Canada. This will help me better serve folks on both
sides of the border, without incurring rediculous postage and duty costs.
The price for the magazine will be the same in US and CDN dollars to begin with.
If the CDN dollar continues to grow I will have to revisit that pricing
structure.
I definitely want to see a strong Canadian presence for Dark Recesses. I feel
it's important to provide more than tole painting, bmx racing and woodworking
for magazine choices. ~grins~ Seriously though, it would be nice to see more
fiction related publications coming out of Canada.
As a little side note, DRP receives hundreds of submissions on a continually
revolving basis from around the world. Canadian submissions make up a
surprisingly small amount of those, which is sad to me. The rate is close to
those from the UK but often falling short of that.
The thing I find interesting is that even though Canadians make up less than 10%
of our overall submissions - we have published at least one in every issue aside
from the latest, Issue 8. I usually don't know how many Canucks are in an issue
until I start writing cheques.
So, a long answer to a rather short question, yes, it will be available in
Canada and anywhere else in the world that has internet access.
