Del-Mi District | Crossroads of America Council
Boy Scouts of America
-2007 Centennial Quality District-

Merry Greetings Scout Leaders,

This Thursday at 7:00 PM is the last Roundtable meeting of 2008.  I hope you can make it.  Roundtable is held at Noblesville First United Methodist Church (2051 Monument Street, Noblesville, IN).

The Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing Roundtables will all be meeting.  Due to a holiday program, all of our meetings will be held in rooms in the older section of the building.  Please enter the doors beneath the awning on the east side of the building.  A location for each meeting and a description of the meetings are below.

The district will be offering a short Friends of Scouting unit chair and presenter training for interested individuals at 6:30 PM in the Parlor.  If you are interested in learning more about the unit’s responsibilities or how to conduct a great presentation, please plan on attending this 30 minutes training.  Please RSVP to Matt Sinsko if you plan on being there.  His e-mail address is msi...@crossroadsbsa.org.   If your unit hasn’t already signed up for your Family FOS presentation, please do so online at www.del-mi.org/finance/fos/.  Thanks!

Finally, Pat Donnelly would be disappointed if I didn’t remind everyone of this.  “Don’t forget to bring some sort of holiday treat to share with others.  Please be sure to get your Good Turn for America hours input soon if you have not already done so.”

Thanks!
Nat Baker

Meeting Locations:

  • Stephenson Hall—Boy Scout Roundtable
  • Chapel—Cub Scout Roundtable
  • Library—Recharter Training for Troops, Teams, and Crews
  • Parlor—Venturing Roundtable
  • Bi Rooms—OA / Firecrafter

Meeting Descriptions:

The Cub Scout Roundtable will cover timely topics related to the Cub Scout year like the Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, and others.  Come and learn more about what’s going on in Cub Scouts.  Also, if your pack is in need of a Pinewood Derby Track, we have had an offer from a pack that is replacing theirs.  Please reply to this e-mail to let us know if you are interested.

In the Boy Scout Roundtable, we’ll talk about the Winter Camporee and maybe hold an open discussion about a Scouting item or two that may be on your mind.  Rumor has it that those Unit’s represented at Roundtable will get to draw their “Country” from a hat.   Those not represented will have a Country assigned to them.

In the Venturing Roundtable, we’ll talk about the upcoming district winter activity to Muskegon Winter Sports Complex in Michigan.  We’ll also discuss what the crews’ planned 2009 Super events are.  Additionally, if you have any questions about Venturing, please bring them as we will have an open topic discussion.

Recharter Training for Troops, Teams, and Crews will be held.  For the most part, the Internet Rechartering System is the same as last year.  If you feel comfortable with the system, you do not need to attend the training.  If you need a refresher or if you’ve never used the system, you should plan on attending this session.  The recharter packets will be available to pick up at this time.
