Guys and Dolls auditions THIS WEEKEND

Auditions for Guys and Dolls, DLO's fall production, are less than a week away! Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, this screwball romantic comedy – considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy – soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon. Join director Abigail Manekin Gailey and music director David Zych as they bring this classic story to life.

Sounds great! When and where are auditions?

Auditions for Guys and Dolls will be held Sunday, August 24 from 3:00-6:00pm and Monday, August 25 from 6:30-9:30pm, at Center Stage rehearsal hall, located in the Burlington wing of the Village Mall. Callbacks (if needed) will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 6:30-9:30pm at Center Stage. If you are planning to arrive after mall business hours, please come to the Center Stage exterior door, around the corner from County Market.

What do I need to bring?

Please prepare a 32-bar musical selection (about 30-60 seconds) to sing; an accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music for your accompanist. MusicNotes.com and SheetMusicPlus.com are good sources for purchasing printable copies. You can also check your local library or music supply store.

Be prepared to read from the script; short selections will be provided.

Auditionees will be taught a short dance/movement sequence, so please dress comfortably.

When and where are the performances?

Friday, October 24 - Sunday, October 26 at Danville High School's Dick Van Dyke Auditorium.
