Dear Friends of DLO,
My hope is to get an actual DLO e-Stage edition to you over the weekend, but to give everyone who wants to audition for Oliver extra time to prepare for auditions, I opted for an Alert!
Below you will find information. There will be separate audition times for children ages 7-14 and for ages 16-and-up. Because we want to see and hear the children in a group situation with each other, it is important that those in the 7-14 range make every attempt to be at that specific audition (date/time below). If it is impossible to make that audition, please send an email to me (Jeanne Dunn at jea...@comcast.net), and we'll work something out for one of the evening audition times. We will also be auditioning 7-14 year old contenders for Oliver, the Artful Dodger and other named youthful roles on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 19, with the possibility of callbacks to work with the adults during evening auditions.
Also, to make it easier for FAMILY GROUPS who are auditioning together, family groups with adults who are only interested in chorus roles should plan to attend with their kids during the Sunday, Aug. 19, afternoon auditions. (Again, if this is not possible, email me. We will work with you!) Adults who want to be considered for non-chorus roles should plan to attend the evening auditions on Sunday or Monday.
Several major roles require auditioning with specific songs from the show. Those are listed below. I have looked up video/sound clips on YouTube and provided links below to help you prepare. I have also attached this information, as well as the audition form to make it easier for you to print that out and complete it in advance, which is helpful.
We are VERY excited about this show! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact producer Allison Willard (email below) or myself (I'm assisting with the production. I type well. I make good Google groups. That kinda' stuff!).
Hope to see lots and lots of you at auditions!
Jeanne Dunn

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
1. Unlike our youth musical, we may not be able to cast all children who audition. We are looking for approximately 20 children. We do want to see all the 7-14 year-olds in a group, so it is best to come on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. If it is impossible for a 7-14 year old to attend the auditions on Sunday afternoon, please email jea...@comcast.net, so we can plan accordingly.
2. Rehearsals are currently slated for Monday and Thursday evenings, Sundays 2-5 and/or 6-9. There will also be some Saturday afternoon choreography rehearsals. It is important that you are able to commit to this schedule with as few conflicts as possible (if any). Please bring with you to auditions a list of all conflicts from August 19 through October 21 if you do not list them on an audition form in advance.
3. Please read the notes on the audition form regarding membership/participation fees, and security deposits for scripts/music.
4. We need people for our production team and crew. If you, or someone you know, is interested in helping with lights, sound, costumes, make-up, set building/painting, stage managing, props, or might be interested in being a part of the orchestra, please contact Allison or Jeanne (see below).
