This item did not reach me in time for the last edition of DLO e-Stage, but we know the community at large is excited about our upcoming production of RENT!

 

If you are interested in auditioning, the information you need is below. Please note the venue for auditions has been moved from DLO Center Stage to the Laura Lee Fellowship Hall in Danville. The address of the Laura Lee Fellowship Hall is 212 E. Williams Street in Danville.

RENT

 

RENT, a Pulitzer Prize winning musical with a wonderful and vibrant score, transformed Broadway by bringing together a community of all ages to celebrate every single minute of life, even in the face of adversity.  DLO is now taking responsibility to do the same.  Directors Jesse Pierce, Marty Lindvahl and Belinda Smith are honored to collaborate with heart, passion and love to create and strengthen our community through the power of theatre.

 

AUDITION DETAILS:

August 24^th - 3 pm - Laura Lee Fellowship Hall

August 25^th - 3 pm - Laura Lee Fellowship Hall

 

• Auditions begin promptly at 3 pm. Expect to stay one to three hours.

• You must be 17 years of age to audition. No exceptions.

• To audition, prepare to sing 24 bars (30 seconds) of a pop/rock song acapella. (Absolutly NO musical theatre selections or songs from the show)

 

RENT is about community. Reaching out to communities of color, removing barriers, and emphasizing inclusion is our attempt, in the spirit of RENT, of moving beyond creating productions to creating social change.
