Terminating DHU-2010

It seems that this listserv is being commandeered by parties with no
evident interest in the well-being of UHM, this even as our Facebook
page continues to attract traffic.

Unless there are objections, I will be shutting down this Google Group
-- DHU-2010 -- by the end of this week. I'll preserve the membership
list in the event that there is a need to set up such a resource in
the future.

  Don't terminate DHU-2010, as it serves a useful purpose.  Instead, make me moderator and I'll keep spam off the list.  I moderate several similar lists, including the local lesbian community list, LACEHAWAII.

I have reported our spammers to Google in the hope that that will alleviate our problem.  I have also suspended posting privileges for those addresses from which spams have been originated. It may be that these measures will solve the current problem. 

We are inviting postings having to do with events in Hawaii that broadly affect the education and well-being of its citizens.  The promotion of commercial products and services are not acceptable. 

Until further notice I am suspending the decision to shut down this listserv.
