Requests: JBoss AOP, May 11th, 2006

Background: I'm a Principle Consultant with Valtech. I've been on
assignment at Hertz Corporation for the past 3.5 years. For the past 18
months we have been using Aspects in both main-line code as well as for
test support.

I'll be presenting JBoss AOP on May 11th. Do you have any specific
requests for this topic?

I plan to begin with a very brief overview of AOP and the JBoss
terminology (5-10 minutes). After that I'm planning on demonstrating
several (5 - 10) different examples of aspects (through codes examples
in Eclipse 3.1/3.2), many of which I'm using in current production
software at the Hertz Corporation.

I plan to follow those examples with a discussion of a fairly complex
example (design only) to mock out DAO's for a test environment.

I'm currently playing with the idea of NOT using the JBoss IDE and
showing you how to manually configure a JDK for load-time weaving using
JDK 1.5.

If you'd like to me to spend more time up-front discussing AOP or have
some specific questions you'd like addressed, please discuss them here
so I can tailor my presentation. (E.g. Aspects + annotations or Aspects
+ generics.)
