What:
In this session, Farhan will talk about the concept of high
availability and failover, cloud based systems and what that means for
a mission critical system. JBoss AS 7 has full integration with mod
cluster, and state of the art clustering features to ensure mission
critical applications and systems can support 99.999 of up time. He
will provide an overview of these features, what requirements must be
taken into account to support these features, followed by a hands on
clustering workshop.
Who:
Farhan Hussain has been designing mission critical systems and
leading software projects using Open Source Technology for over a
decade. Holding various roles as a developer, architect, trainer,
mentor and manager at Red Hat Inc, he is intimately familiar with
JBoss and Open Source Technology.
His first experience with JBoss was in 2002, when he used it to
develop applications that were being deployed on the leading
application server at the time, Weblogic. The easy setup and license
free model attracted Farhan to use JBoss for development.
For over a decade, Farhan has applied his knowledge of JBoss in the
banking, insurance, telecom, airline, and health care industries.
Currently providing consulting services as an enterprise architect and
manager, leading migrations to JBoss is one of his many specialties.
In whatever spare time he has, Farhan is also working on his book,
JBoss AS 7 in the Enterprise, which will be published by Manning in
2012.
