ZOOM into Netweaver

This is small zoom into the SAP Netweaver platform. As days goes by
your vision will enlarge and much can be visualised.
On the top is an enduser's view of business, all he will see is figures
on the screen. The SAP GUI was making it possible but now it is the
Portal (Keep in mind still we can use SAP GUI). It will be single
signing on to the browser with your SAP user id, you can access any SAP
componenet, can be mySAP CRM, mySAP SCM, or R/3. It is called as single
sign on (SSO).
Below that we have various technologies like mySAP, R/3, BW, Legacy
Systems etc...
And at the bottom we have WAS (Web Application Server) with Development
Environment. Now that SAP technology is open for all any developer can
explore SAP, need not be an expert in ABAP. But should be strong enough
in web services technologies (UDDI, WSDL, XML, XSD...)
All these mySAP technologies, MDM, BW, R/3 will run on Web Application
Server. Infact SAP has developed this Application Server since 2000 and
now its 2006 we are aware that we have this technology.
SAP has been giving support for these web based technology since 2000.
