Dear All,

MDM is a server which holds the master data and services which manage
them and share them between the systems. The data from MDM to be
transported to its clients (like SAP R/3, SAP BI, SAP EB) it requires
an interface. Here comes the SAP XI (To be pronounced as SAP 'ex-eye')
SAP Exchange Interface comes to the rescue. This SAP XI is like an
intermediate broker (infact it is called as Integration Broker) who
transfers data from one system to another.

So its the SAP XI which transports data from MDM to any other system.
That's all fine. But what is the technology that is used to transfer
Master Data. Nothing new its the same old buzzword XML. Don't worry XML
is not that difficult to put it under our foot.

Three simple steps would make you share the master Data across systems.
For this to be clear, Consider SAP BI is your client for recieving data
from MDM

* Identify the business content (Nothing big, can be your Vendor
Master) and create XML interface in the BI to recieve the data from SAP
XI (Remember SAP XI recieves data from MDM).
* Design the inbound message in SAP BI (Which includes mapping of
fields), the interface will map the SAP MDM Object structure with
Vendor Structure in SAP BI.
* Generate the proxy object in SAP BI.

All these are simple steps. We will supplement to this in the coming
messages...

Hope I was clear in this...

Thanx n Rgrds,
Ragu
