The ECTA Team is wrapping-up ECTA for CY2025. As part of our CY2025 wrap-up, we will be sending out two (2) more invitations for licensed DD providers, related to CY2025 Licensing reviews. This announcement is the first of the two, with the second to be sent out in March. Direct invitations for the February round will be emailed to providers on 2/4/26 who meet ECTA criteria and have not yet received an invitation to participate in ECTA. This same process will be followed in March.
Announcements for CY2026 ECTA will begin in April.
In ECTA, QI Specialists will work 1:1 with providers that have been cited for and have an approved CAP by the Office of Licensing on one or more of our focus licensing regulations: 620.A-E, 520.A-F, and 450 during their CY25 unannounced licensing review.
Voluntary ECTA
HOW will providers be invited to participate in ECTA?
-
On Wednesday, 2/4/2026, invitations will be emailed from EC...@dbhds.virginia.gov to providers’ Main Authorized Contacts (MACs) as shown in CONNECT. Invitations must be responded to by Wednesday 2/11/2026). Providers are supported on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Please check your spam email.
WHERE is ECTA offered?
As we are wrapping up CY2025 ECTA, all remaining CY2025 Voluntary ECTA sessions will be held virtually.
Mandatory ECTA Reminder
If you have received a Noncompliant Systemic (NS) citation in the above regulations in an Office of Licensing inspection that began on or after 7/15/2025, please reference the joint memo from the Office of Licensing and Office of Community Quality Improvement on July 10, 2025 for requirement details of mandatory ECTA. All Mandatory ECTA sessions are conducted virtually and require access to Microsoft Teams.
NOTE
- The ECTA Team does not represent the Office of Licensing, nor does the Team issue citations, or make judgements on compliance.
- Participation in this type of ECTA is not mandatory.
- There is no guarantee that providers participating in ECTA will be found compliant with the focus regulations at their next licensing review.
-
However, based on our experience, participation can be helpful to organizations seeking to make improvements in their quality improvement and risk management efforts.
More ECTA details will be provided in the invitations.
