ISP v4.0 Data Exchange Updates
It’s been just over a month since the release of the new ISP. We’re currently holding regional in-person provider and support coordination meetings to collect early feedback. Next month, we’ll start drafting plans for any necessary adjustments
to improve your experience with v.4.0. If you attend one of these sessions, please provide your feedback, or you can send it to your assigned CRC for consideration.
EHR Data Exchange Updates
You may have noticed some issues that are limited to the data exchange used by CSB electronic health records. Several problems, not seen during testing, emerged once the ISP went live. We believe all issues have been addressed and are testing
the solutions this week to ensure they’re resolved.
Most issues were related to error messages and CSB difficulties in successfully pushing files into WaMS. Two more significant issues included an inability to update v.3.4 ISPs in the new system and mis-matching potential risks in some ISPs
due to a server error. No security concerns related to personal health information were encountered.
The v.3.4 update issue is being resolved by creating and testing a new update template for EHR vendor use. The mis-matching issue affected a small number of files, but we are reviewing all 166 records processed through the data exchange
between 9/16/24 and 10/11/2024 as a precaution. These records were reprocessed by the WaMS vendor to correct concerns and will be reviewed by EHR vendors by 10/31/24. DBHDS will then review all associated Part Vs to ensure no corrections are needed from providers.
If a correction is needed, DBHDS will contact the affected provider directly.
Thank you for your patience as we work through these issues. Please be sure to send your input to help us improve your experience using the ISP. Any issues should also be reported to the WaMS Helpline at
844-4-VA-WaMS (844-482-9267) or by email at:
