Here is a message from one of our collaborators about an effort they're building outside of the coalition pertaining to food justice in light of SNAP cuts. See below to get connected!

Hi Everyone,

It was a pleasure being in community with you all this past weekend! Thank you to everyone who put in the time and effort to make it such an impactful weekend.

As it was noted on Saturday, there is a dire need for food access at this time, especially in light of the cuts to SNAP and other benefits. In an effort to meet this need, I’ve been reaching out to local organizations in an effort to establish food give-aways/banks at the childcare centers supported through UPO. One such organization is SHARE Food Network. They will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, Nov. 8th. It is open to those interested in seeing how their process works and potentially partnering with them. If you know of other connections/community partners that would be interested in joining these efforts, by donating food or organizing power, please let me know.
