Hello everyone!
I hope we are doing well today. As you know, our coalition has been working hard to put together a Community Wealth Building Day this year. We are a little more than a month away and we are thrilled!
Huge thank yous to all the effort folks are putting in to secure our venue, budget, and finalize our exciting agendas. Thanks as well to those who came to our work session this month to begin doing outreach. I'm writing now to ask everyone to do the same! Now is the time to do a big push to all your networks to turn folks out to either or both days of our event.
If you are planning to attend our Saturday Strategy Session or Sunday Cooperative Festival, please sign up to let us know at
dccwb.com/cwbday25 . The Saturday Strategy Session will be more like a "201" than a "101" event, with a focus on bringing individuals already invested in cooperative economy and community wealth building into our burgeoning campaigns. The Sunday Cooperative Festival will be a more public-facing event for the general public where folks who are brand new to the space can get introduced and learn about DC's cooperatives.
Can I ask everyone to consider this and then invite folks in your network who would be good fits at either event?
Find below some short blurbs and flyers you can share with folks as well. Please DO NOT share the Strategy Session on social media, but feel free to do so for the Cooperative Festival, as we want to be intentional with who we are inviting to the Strategy Session's more limited space.
And if you have already started outreach via
the Outreach Spreadsheet, please make sure to update the status column as you get responses from folks. And if you have not heard responses yet, I would use this as an opportunity to boost your invitation. (Also note that flyers have been slightly updated for clarity and style since we first used them a few weeks ago.)
Thank you everyone! Let's get this done. I'm sending you all the best,
Abi

- Join us in a family-friendly celebration of DC cooperatives at Edgewood Community Farm. The event will feature free food, games, and visioning about how to grow cooperative wealth and empowerment in our communities.
