Hi folks!

Thank you those who were able to make our May In-Person Work Session yesterday.

Working groups made good progress in their campaigns. Shouts out to the Landscape Group for continuing to fill out the network directory, to the Public Ed group for committing to give CWB presentations and planning Social Media content, and the Legislative Group for prepping to close out budget season! 

Please reach out if you are interested in:

• Doing research on local coops and Community Wealth Builders for our network directory?
• Creating CWB social media content or giving CWB presentations to folks in your community?
• Attending meetings with Councilmembers next week about our CWB policy asks?

Lastly, folks expressed interest yesterday in organizing a 2026 Community Wealth Building Day (yayyy!!). Last year, this was a large scale celebration of DC's Coops and Community Wealth Builders as well as a pivotal Strategy Session that established much of the work we are currently building. This year's event (likely in October) could take a number of forms, all of which very exciting! Bearing in mind your personal capacity if you already have commitments in the coalition, could you respond to this email if you are interested in helping build the vision and plan for a 2026 CWB Day? Whatever we develop, we will bring back to full coalition for feedback, participation, and approval. But would love to start the conversation with you.
