Hello everyone!

Here is one final reminder that we will meet via Zoom in a couple hours at 10 AM for our June Coalition Meeting. We will continue to integrate the feedback from our six month step back and discuss some exciting plans for later in the year.

Likewise I wanted to highlight/remind that this Monday, June 8th, will be our In-Person Work Session. Right around the corner! I have updated the calendar invitation to reflect that we will meet at Dorothy Height/Benning Library (3935 Benning Rd NE, Washington, DC 20019) in Ward 7. See you there at 6 PM for working group breakout time.

Send us all of the good vibes as we approach the end of budget season! As one door begins to close, we look to the summer to keep up the exciting work. I'm very grateful to have you all in the space to make it happen.

Thanks so much,

Abi

Hi folks! Thank you everyone who was able to join our call today! We accomplished so much and I'm especially excited to see folks tap in to different areas of the work.

A big part of our discussion was visioning/goal setting for a 2026 Community Wealth Building Day in October. I heard a lot of big themes about connecting individuals and organizations whose work is related to ours in one space to do shared strategizing, as well as doing internal structure-building and leadership development, and honoring the success of last year's Cooperative Festival. Please see the meeting notes for a complete list of what we discussed. If you have more thoughts to add, please share them with me in this email thread and I will be sure to incorporate them into the CWB Day Planning Team's discussions. We may not be able to do everything, but at this stage, we need to see what is exciting folks the most and think about how we can be most effective in advancing our work. Your thoughts really matter here!

With that said, if you would like to join the CWB Day Planning Team, please respond to me here and I will include you in a thread to schedule a separate planning meeting.

I hope to see you on Monday at 6 PM at Dorothy Height/Benning Library for our In-Person Work Session. Enjoy your weekend yall!

Abi
