Hello all!

Thank you everyone who attended our call today. I wanted to follow up with some guidance and deadlines for outreach for CWB Day.

If you haven't already, please review our Outreach Spreadsheet and add your name to folks you can reach out to in Column G and/or add additional names and groups not included yet.

If already added, please reach out with the flyer and sample blurbs below. Try to get as much done as you can by our work session on Mon, the 14th! To maximize responses, I recommend reaching out through the following steps:
  1. Phone call! Calls typically have the greatest response rate, whether or not you know the person prior. If this makes you nervous, I believe in you.
  2. If no answer, leave a voice message AND text. Make sure to include the sign up link and flyer in your text: dccwb.com/cwbday
  3. Respond promptly if you get a call or text back.
  4. Update the spreadsheet above with your progress in column H.
  5. If you don't get a response, follow up with an additional text no more than one week later. If you sent an email and got no response, follow up with an additional email one week later.
I trust you to get creative with how you reach out to folks! Here are sample descriptions for each day of the event that you can tailor however best you see fit. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to talk through how best to phrase your outreach:
  • Saturday Strategy Session:
    • Join us to steer our vision of growing cooperative wealth and collaboration in our communities. We will reflect on the successes and challenges of the past year and set long term goals for what our collective will create. Your voice will inform how we build cooperative economic power for the people of DC. Sign up at DCCWB.com/CWBDay .
  • Sunday Cooperative Festival:
    • Join us in a family-friendly celebration of DC cooperatives and community projects at Edgewood Community Farm. The event will feature free food, games, and visioning about how to grow cooperative wealth and empowerment in our communities. Learn about what cooperatives exist in DC, how to support them, and how to tap in to the DC Community Wealth Builders.
Again, try to do as much outreach as you can by Mon, 9/14, and please update in the spreadsheet as you go. We will follow up with additional rounds of reminders in October.

Thank you very much yall! I hope you enjoy the long weekend if you got it.

Abi
