Hi folks -

A couple of significant updates that we can discuss at the meeting this Friday.

First, the Open Referral workgroup has posted version 0.1 of the Human Services Data Specification -- i.e. our new model for structuring resource directory data. The idea is, groups in DC and elsewhere will use this to align data from different directories in a way that can be easily exchanged and made available on the web. We'll test it and evaluate it, and they'll update it according to our feedback. See more in the message below.

Second, we posted a reportback from the first Open Referral workshop, where we gathered stakeholders of various kinds to review all this stuff, mostly from the Bay Area, but Jenn was there to represent with some research pulled from stakeholders here in DC. Check it out.

We can discuss both of these things and more at the meeting on Friday at 4pm.

Looking forward to it,
greg

Hi folks -

Sophia has posted version 0.1 of the Human Services Data Specification (i.e. the Open Referral model). This begins a final two-week Request for Comment period, after which the model will be set for a period of time (based on feedback, I expect about six months).

Thanks to all of those who provided comments and advisement on v0.1. Note that the previous document will now be frozen, but the previous round of comments, along with responses and changes, have all been compiled in this issues spreadsheet.

From here on out, we encourage additional comments and invite you to join us for a set of video conferences to discuss. Those dates are below -- please RSVP:
(We expect that everyone on these video calls will be familiar with the framework of the Open Referral initiative -- at least having read the Public Documentation. If you're new to the Open Referral Initiative, and would like to participate in this process, but would like to get personally caught up to speed, let me know -- given sufficient interest, I will organize 'Orientation' videochats for newbies.)

If you have any questions or comments about v0.1, please get in there! If you have any questions or comments about this process, please share here in this group.

Onwards!
