Hi guys,
The Lea Extreme Race will be held this Saturday 23rd September.
There are some exciting prizes for those who get their entries and payment sorted before the day so enter now on the Facebook page or Tasmanian Canoe Club website. If you plan on paying on the day, please bring correct cash.
You must be a an AC member to race - if you are not you can purchase a single day membership
This year we have a slightly new format to the event, with the addition of the “King of the Lea”. King of the Lea is a solo race down the river and will be run after the traditional pairs race. In order to qualify for this new event you and your partner must place in the top 6 teams. The remainder of the field will paddle a second lap and run safety at various parts of the river.
The day will run as follows:
1000 - Briefing at the lake- if your not there you can’t race
1130 - Pairs Race Start at First Drop
1300 - Second briefing for “King of the Lea”
1400 - King of the Lea start
1800 - Dinner and presentations

After the racing has finished we will all head back to the Tasmanian Canoe Club for the after party/dinner/celebrations/camping/music. Meal and camping is included in the entry price for racers and a social ticket can be purchased for $20 for partners, family members and friends.
We have a great group of sponsors this year:
Sea To Summit
BaxGear and Paddlesports Australia
Horizon Line
Random Adventure Gear
Shiploads Devonport
Cradle Mountain Canyons
King River Rafting
Cradle Forest Inn
Burnie Backpackers
Kayak4Play
7Four Media
As usual, they have been very generous, and we really appreciate their ongoing support to help this event continue to happen.

Looking forward to seeing you there
Cheers
Jarman
