I think the main central point of communication for the proceedings
should probably be the DARwiki Barn raising page at
http://distributedresearch.net/wiki/index.php/Barn_raising
but if there are any technical htches, eg overloading the server, then
this email group will serve as a good contingency channel. It's also
the place where new people searching the web for various combinations
of "distributed action research" might end up, so has the potential
for accumulating a community around the interest and then practice over
a period of time.
Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see what goes off in the next
few days, does anybody have any urgent suggestions of tasks for this
pre-planning period? My impression is that there will be some quite
disparate personalities and groups convening, so the most important
tasks for everybody are going to be communication, communication and
communication.
It's a bit like chopping down a big tree in four hours which is best
done by spending the first three hours sharpening the axe, maybe.
There's still a bit of publicity to do too, but that's quite
transparent. I'm off to bed and I'll see you'se all tomorrow evening,
as long as it's not raining on the lea.
You have to have good weather for it!
Cheers
Is the preliminary work on this topic from the CPsquare Web 2.0 event
required pre-reading?
The introduction in this site implies a very broad scope, including
action research (which has a history of happening in f2f and virtual
environments), online research, etc. Is one task to build some common
context around scope?
Thanks.

No, it isn't. There were many free flowing and wide ranging
discussions there, with only a very small amount relating to
distributed action research.
It is a suggestion to read the online exhibition though, which is now open at

Hmm, the scope is intended to be a bit narrower than that, restricting
the topic to focus on action research where it can be applied to
distributed communities of practice, although the wider topics of AR
in general, CoPs in general, internet tools in general, may also be
referred to in order to provide context. So yes, building context
may well be a useful task I think. Thanks
