All,

The upcoming Bull City Open Pickleball Tournament is the annual fundraising tournament for Durham Area Pickleball Players (DAPP).

100% of the monies raised at this tournament go to support pickleball in Durham.

If you have played at Bethesda, you've used nets (6 purchased annually at ~= $200 each) that live in a bin ($$?), and played protected by windscreens ($1,700 just a few months ago) that were paid for by DAPP.

If you plan to play at the amazing upcoming Piney Wood complex, you'll definitely want windscreens there (which will cost way more than $1,700 because 12 dedicated courts!) and you'll long for some other stuff we're working to provide (like shade, seating, power outlets, fans, etc).

DAPP is all over this, but we need your help. What can you do?  Well . . .

First, register to play in the Bull City Open.  You'll have fun even if it's your first tournament.  It's a big party.  Everyone is nice. You'll do fine.  :-)

Next, please volunteer a few hours to help with the tourney.  The volunteer time slots are short, the jobs are easy, and the company is good.

There are 52 total jobs.  If each of you signs up for one of them, we have this covered.

Join us as a volunteer or a player (or both!) and feel especially good next time you look at a windscreen.

Thanks for reading, and I'll look for you on the courts.

Cheers,
Sandi Metz
2023 DAPP President
