IMPT Update: Give the School a Smile

Hey Class Officers,

Give the School a Smile is almost completely planned. The skits are coming out to be FANTASTIC.  We will be having Buca di Beppo catering some vegetarian & meat pastas, garlic bread, Caesar salad, and mixed green salads.  They will also be providing food warmers, plates, plastic wear (utensils in packets with napkins), house bread, crushed red pepper, & Parmesan cheese. The Office of Student Services will be providing 3 tables and 4 trash cans. All of this will be delivered at 5:00pm on January 9 in the Nobel Hall (right in front of Cole Hall) of the Med Sci Building. We have advertised that the dinner reception will be at 5:30pm and the show will start at 6:00pm. 

Scott, Ruben, & Vinh have agreed to handle all of the technical aspects of the show, so they will be setting up during all of this. 

Katina, Scott, Vinh, Sarah Forbes, & I have worked really hard to make this show happen.  I have already spent the entire break so far editing tons of videos and making all of the arrangements for this event.  However, I really need some help with a few things, so please help me out!!  

We need: 

1.  1-3 people to be there when the caterers come to deliver all the food 

2.  1-3 people to help manage the line that will form to get food. 

3.  We need serving spoons & salad tossing spoons...can any of you volunteer your serving spoons to use for the night?  We need them for every dish: 6 pastas & 6 salads

4.  1-2 people to help decorate Cole Hall & food tables with "winter wonderland" themed decorations

5.  1 person to pick up the wireless microphones from SB43 in the Med Sci building from 3-5pm on the day-of, Jan 9

6.  1 person to return the wireless microphones to SB43 the next day (Jan 10) between 7-7:30am

6.  Clean up crew (as many people as possible): we will get charged BIG TIME if we leave a mess! 

7.  ...and last but not least, I need someone to do a Costco run.  Do any of you have a Costco card or know someone who does?  We need to buy some cases of water bottles (1/2 sized ones), liters of soda (coke, diet coke, sprite, etc.), & desserts (cookies & brownies).  We also need to buy cups & extra napkins.  Can any of you please volunteer to do this?

One last thing, when we get back to school please advertise this event like crazy!!  We ordered a ton of food & want as many people to come as possible!!!  I made a huge effort to include as many people as possible in the skits & slide shows.  Practically EVERYONE is in the show, including D1, D2, and D4's, so everyone has a reason to come.

Dear class officers,

The only class officer who has volunteered to help at Give the School a Smile is Katina.  Please understand that the two of us cannot do this event alone!  I REALLY need your help to make sure things go smoothly.  Everything about the show is planned...I just need your help with logistics.  Most of the positions are super EASY.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fill out a space in this google doc.

Also, can anyone get drinks & desserts?  It would be preferable to do a Costco-run, but Safeway works too!  We are expecting a crowd of at least 200 people...so it would be ideal to get cases of mini water bottles, liters of soda & cups, and cookies/brownies.  Of course, you will be reimbursed by the funds being allocated to Give the School a Smile.
