Hello,

I have posted the revised draft Currier and Ives Scenic Byway Corridor
Management Plan on the CNHRPC website for public comment. The comment
period will be open until January 31, 2010.

Please read over the plan, particularly the Action Plan section, which
I created based on our conversation at the Dec. 10th Byway Committee
meeting.

I welcome your suggestions and comments. Please forward these links to
folks in your community and request their input as well. I will be
sending this announcement to each town hall and requesting that the
links be posted on town websites.

All comments may be emailed to me at vbitt...@cnhrpc.org. I am also
available by phone at 603-226-6020, Monday through Thursday.

Be sure to copy and paste the entire links below, if they have been
split onto two lines:

Appendix A, CMP 14 Points:

Appendix B, Byway Inventory:

Once the public comment period is over, I will incorporate comments
received and we will have a final public meeting in February to
present the Corridor Management Plan. After that time, we will request
that each town's Board of Selectmen consider a Resolution of Support
to adopt the CMP.

I also encourage you to visit the National Scenic Byways Program
websites to learn more about the program, processes, and resources
available. There are three different Byways websites for you to
explore:

http://www.byways.org - for travelers
http://www.bywaysonline.org - for the byway community
http://www.bywaysresourcecenter.org - training, discussion forums, and
publications for local byway groups and planners

For those of you who were not able to attend the December meeting, the
group decided that a permanent Byway Council should be established
with formal representatives appointed by each town's Board of
Selectmen as well as members from local and state agencies. Each town
may have a different timeline for when to request such appointments
from their selectmen. I am drafting the request letter and will email
that around to you for consultation on timing. The group also decided
to table discussions on the Letter of Intent and funding project until
the Byway Council has been established. The goal is for the group to
have its first meeting sometime in March or early April 2010.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Have a happy holiday!
