UnOfficial Name Change Announcement (BikeCulverCity) To Members Only

Dear Valued Member, 

This is a very long read but with very important information. 

We are proud to announce that the Culver City Bicycle Coalition has voted 

to change its name  to BikeCulverCity. BikeCulverCity is a chapter of the 

Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition and this change does not affect your 

membership. There are, however, some changes we would like to bring to your 

attention.

1. On April 16, 2016 Our email address will be changing to 

    in...@bikeculvercity.org

2. We are now on Twitter as @bikeculvercity

3. We are now on Instagram as @bikeculvercity

4. Please use hashtags #bikeculvercity and #bikela

5. Beginning April 16, 2016 we will begin moving our member base from 

    CCBicyclecoalitionannouncements to BikeCulverCityAnnouncements.

6. During Bike Month in May (date not yet known) we will begin to rollout our new website, new logo, 

    and all things BikeCulverCity. Note: Would you like to be a part of our new look? Join our Branding and Marketing 

    Sub-Committee and help shape our future. 

5. New and exciting ways for you to volunteer, participate and help shape the future of BikeCulverCity are coming. 

As a member of BikeCulverCity our primary goal is to provide many 

opportunities for our members' voices to be heard. Some of you may feel 

strongly about advocacy, some of you may like volunteering, while others 

may just want to participate in a group ride with us. Others may like long 

distance bike rides with a more brisk pace, and others may want to get the 

kids dressed and come for a short family bike ride. Other opportunities may 

present themselves and BikeCulverCity is in the process of working on 

providing something for everyone.

To grow BikeCulverCity, we're looking for fresh ideas and helping hands to 

bring these ideas to light. Below, is a list of the many ways in which our 

members can get involved. Please note that there is no obligation to join 

any of the groups/sub-committees you see below. As a Chapter of the Los 

Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, we are here for you. Please don't 

hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have and we hope to see 

you soon.

At our last meeting we put together a few sub-committees. These sub-committees are for members who would like a hand in shaping the future of BikeCulverCity. Please read the descriptions below for a detailed explanation about each group/sub-committee and if one or more is right for you, we invite you to join and collaborate. 

Branding and Marketing: BikeCulverCity is planning to launch during Bike Week 

                                    in May 2016. This group/sub-committee is for planning all of the 

                                    branding and marketing (logo, website, brochures, stickers, etc.) for 

                                    BikeCulverCity. For now, this group will also include event planning with a 

                                    future goal of creating a separate Events Planning Sub-Committee.

Grants: This group/sub-committee is dedicated to researching and finding 

            available grants that BikeCulverCity could potentially apply for.

Advocacy: As you all know, Culver City is in the midst of many changes. If 

                you're interested in lending your voice to advocate for a better walkable

Rewriting our Rules of Governance: We are a chapter of the Los Angeles county Bicycle Coalition

                                                    and with that comes rules. This group/sub-committee is for anyone

                                                    interested in helping us write our Rules of  Governance for BikeCulverCity.
