I thought I'd create this thread to ask people about their solutions for cryonics first aid practicalities. Time is an important factor in ensuring a good cryopreservation, so I'm looking for people's thoughts on how to make the process as fast as possible.
1. Are there any ideas on how to get a patient into an ice bath for people who don't have the upper body strength to lift the patient without assistance?
2. Has anyone else set up an ice bath with associated equipment in their home?
3. If yes to the above, what kind of equipment are you using?
In our household, this is what we've got so far:
- Ziegler case as an ice bath
- A hose nearby, connected to running water for mixing water with the ice
- A 9 cubic foot chest freezer filled with bags of ice
- A "Basic cryonics first aid kit" that we bought from CI
- Rolling hydraulic patient lift for lifting the patient into the bath
Are there any other thoughts on how to make the cryonics first aid process as efficient as possible?
