Apologies if this has been asked before...I couldn't find anything.

I want to make a platform 2' x 2'. It will be mounted on a pole. It will be required to be near trees. This is unavoidable.

Here's what I know about squirrels:
Jump horizontally 8 feet
Leap vertically 4 feet from standing position
Drop from heights of 15 feet and land safely

I want to put a baffle ABOVE the platform. My questions is, based on the Crowbox, crow's claustrophobia, and squirrel acrobatics, how high above the platform should the baffle be?

Thanks in advance...

I don't have an answer to this, but want to +1 the question.  I'm interested in this as well.  I know that there are roller-bar tops for fences (mounted on bearings) that people can install to, say, keep cats from being able to jump onto the top of a fence (the bar rolls and dumps them off again); I don't know how effective this would be for squirrels, whether it would work better with a baffle or platform (if the baffle is too high, it might not work, not sure).  I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with anti-squirrel measures (which I imagine would involve both anti-squirrel protection *and* making sure the little furry guys know that they can go to their own feeder or something).

Cheers,
